Heather is a Settler residing on unceded traditional homelands of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. She has her Serious Beer Level One certification. She slings beer at the brewery Steel & Oak. Heather is a full time student at SFU. She enjoys reading, list-making, and eating grilled cheese sandwiches. When she isn’t volunteering in her community or writing a paper, she is probably trying a new beer while binge watching something on Netflix and snuggling with her three cats.
Favourite beer styles: super dry and peppery saisons as well as jammy lambics.
Matt Kump is a beer traveller, trader, and festival organizer in South Vancouver. He has certifications in Serious Beer, Serious Beer 2, and Prud’homme 1 training, and has just been too lazy to pursue Cicerone and BJCP certifications so far. Matt helps organize Farmhouse Fest, a celebration of Saisons and Wild Ales that takes place at UBC Farm every summer. When not designing software, he is usually travelling to beer festivals around the world, or just exploring cities with great beer.
Favourite beer styles: funky old lambic.
Between studying History at UBC, masquerading as a poet, and providing the good people of Mount Pleasant with adult beverages, DF Parizeau is a Prairie-boy trying his best to adjust to West Coast life. An avid beer drinker, he believes that the more malt you can cram into a beer, the better and would feel completely lost in a world without Belgium’s delicious quads, or a good robust porter. When he’s not ignoring his studies, contributing to his two online poetry projects, or shucking booze at Brewery Creek on Main Street, it’s safe to bet that he is investigating delicious wines or spirits for the wet hop’s lovely readers.
