Is it any surprise to see this beer here? Superflux (and formerly, Machine) has been batting 1000 when it comes to making incredible IPAs in BC, and Rainbow Machine is no exception. Perhaps it’s because the Brewmaster goes out of his way to make sure he has the absolute best ingredients for his beers, even driving down to Yakima to find the best hops of the season. Attention to detail and craftsmanship are what result in the best product. It’s like signing your work… Are you proud of the effort you put in to doing what you’re doing? Is the result as good as you know it can be? When you do everything in a way you’d be happy to put your name on, you’re bound to create marvelous things, and Superflux is showing that in Vancouver.
This cloudy American IPA clocks in at 7.5% ABV, and is loaded with Denali, Motueka, and Hallertau Blanc hops, resulting in a wonderfully balanced glass of beer. Up front you get a burst of tropical fruit on the nose. Mango, pineapple, and grapefruit entice you to dive right in, which is when you discover that there’s a hidden piney bitterness underneath, dialing the juiciness of the tropical aroma into a soft, resinous pine bitterness on top of a dry, crackery malt base.
Rainbow Machine is available in 4 packs or singles at specific stores throughout the lower mainland, but quantities are limited and they move extremely fast. If you see some, buy it without hesitation.
